So, it was announced today that is going to the first major trip towards Aurangabad. There are some caves located nearby. The pictures I've found so far on the Web were rather boring and repellent - but we shall see whether that reflects the true picture.
Unfortunately, it poured down with rain, but we (a colleague from the company from Norway and his Indian wife) have not yet let us take the day from 6:30 in a good mood (and I still slightly battered from the wine yesterday) to tackle . let
The ride was interesting there - we had hardly left the town limits of Pune, the road - BETTER! Good thing, because for a 240km Tripp make bad roads is no fun. Next to an elephant (no picture), there was on the 5-hour drive to some Aurangabad to see. In particular, the 65 000 years ago by a volcano erupted formed landscape is worth seeing despite constant rain. We also see more of the real India in Pune. However, one can see that the roads are quite dangerous. The truck is just one crashed out of 5 vehicles that we have seen. Another was a brand new semi truck mounted TATA, the other a heavy transport, in which the brakes have probably failed and then charged mitsammt bridge next to the street to stand has come.
The hotel in which we have checked has his best days already behind him - but still a good address. It is in the British Imperial style (if I correctly) built and probably the best hotel in town - and for about 45 euros per night. It was not clinically pure, but as far as clean - and has reminded us of better times. Unfortunately, it is still raining in torrents.
to ride on the roads here tomorrow even more.
• Monumental
From the hotel it was after 5 hours one way (for 240 km) and lunch in Taj Residence los Ajanta Caves direction (again 110 km, or about 2.5 hours). Well, I was thinking not too much, even if recommended by some authorities her to go there and it is a World Herti days site. To sum it short - what to expect there is a simple MONUMENTAL. I think the pictures I've taken of the 26 caves in and say everything. Oh yes - and then the sun came out for even 10 minutes! I naturally used the same for some pictures.
• Food
morning we halted at a rest stop almost exactly between Pune and Aurangabad. There, I've had for the first time an Indian breakfast, which you can really eat well as Europeans - Dosa. The crepes are almost, but not sweet, but slightly sharp and left so long on the stove until the surface is slightly crusty. Purpose, a chilli sauce. The delicious tastes, though it is not everyone's breakfast.
gabs for lunch then at the Taj Residence Noddles Hakka - Chinese noodles with vegetables. First, second, really hot and tasty!
the evening at the Taj Residence gabs Sizzling Lamb with Noodles - the lamb is well seasoned with sauce and Chinese noodles. Probably absolutely nothing Indian, but I think that is why it tasted so good to me. The whole was unfortunately served by worm-eaten salad leaves, but I can just lie. Was delicious (you just have to ignore just about certain things). .
PS: I hardly eat breakfast any more times down to the Indian that goes to the stomach - funny ...
• Work
Nix work! But the journey was tiring already, mainly from the Ajanta Caves 2.5 hours back to the hotel because it was dark and 1.5 hours drive in heavy rain and darkness on roads are no fun - I have been sitting beside the driver and my best done to support him quietly - 4 eyes can see more than two. And who is schonmal driven by continuous rain and night over bad roads with constantly overtaking oncoming traffic, pedestrians, dogs, sheep, cows and unlit vehicles, of which I speak wisely. After all, I wanted that we arrive safely back at the hotel.
• Leisure
That was LEISURE - my first time I have been in India, the time was right time! Was fairly exhausting, but it was time!
